Red lanterns were hung up in front of the shops in "Ziyang" Ancient
Street in Zhejiang's Linhai City to create a strong festive atmosphere
for the upcoming New Year's Day. "Ziyang" Ancient Street was named after
Ziyang, the ancestor of south sect of Taoism. The street is 1,080 meters
long and four to five meters wide. It features typical architectural
style of the Ming (1368--1644) and Qing (1616--1911) dynasties and used
to be the busiest commercial street of Taizhou Prefecture in history.
