Anchang, an ancient town in Zhejiang Province's Shaoxing City, held a
three-day festival to showcase folk customs of the twelfth lunar month
from January 1 to 3, 2006. Rich folkway and folk customs attracted
tourists from neighboring areas and other provinces. Tourists experienced
at first hand the vibrant view of local residents celebrating the New
Year, making rice cakes, zongzi (pyramid-shaped dumpling wrapped in
bamboo or reed leaves) and sausages and stretching white sugar.
